Overview

DigitalConverter provides free online file conversion and utility tools. We design our tools to process files with minimal retention. This policy describes what information we collect and how third-party services such as Google AdSense may use cookies on our site.

How we process your files

DigitalConverter.online uses two processing models. Understanding which applies helps you choose the right tool for sensitive documents.

Client-side tools (default)

PDF, image, video, audio, OCR, and developer utilities run entirely in your browser. File bytes are read into memory on your device and are not uploaded to our servers for conversion. When you close the tab, that memory is released under normal browser behavior. We do not permanently store these uploads.

Server-side tools (limited exceptions)

Word to PDF and PDF to Word require server processing because accurate DOCX layout preservation needs specialized conversion engines that cannot run reliably in every browser. For these tools only:

  • Your file is transmitted over HTTPS to our server.
  • Conversion runs in ephemeral storage.
  • The uploaded file and converted output are deleted after processing completes—typically within minutes, not retained for long-term storage.
  • We do not use your document content to train models or sell data.

Do not use server-backed tools for classified or legally restricted material; use an offline desktop suite when policy requires air-gapped processing.

Information we collect

  • Files you upload: For client-side tools, files stay on your device. For Word/PDF server conversions, files are processed temporarily as described above and then deleted.
  • Usage data: Our hosting provider may log standard technical information (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance.
  • Cookies and advertising: When Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads if you consent.

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements, including Auto ads that Google places automatically on our pages. Google may collect or receive information from your browser or device when ads are shown.

If you decline personalized ads in our cookie banner, we request non-personalized ads through Google Consent Mode. Ads may still appear, but personalization is limited.

Your choices

You can clear cookies in your browser settings at any time. You may also use the links above to manage ad personalization with Google and other ad networks.

Children

Our services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
